Sunday Funday
Family All Ages Ink and Print with Daryl Howard
Family-Friendly Craft Activity at the Museum
sunday, September 7, 2025 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM CST
Daryl Howard will present a condensed history of woodblock printmaking and an introduction to the tools and techniques. Each participant will be loaned a pre-carved, single-color woodblock, ink, rice paste, brushes, bamboo barens and handmade kizuki print paper. Howard will give instructions and a demonstration on how to ink, baren and pull a print. Participants will leave with their completed prints.
All supplies will be provided, as well as staff, to help with instructions. Reservations are not required. Participation in Sunday Funday is free for kids 12 and under with an adult’s Museum admission ($8 seniors / $10 general), and NCHM members are always free. Drop in anytime between 11:00AM and 2:00PM to enjoy the activity.
The Neill-Cochran House Museum is open for touring throughout the activity. After the activity, families can enjoy a scavenger hunt within the historic house and grounds to encourage exploration of the site, including a scavenger hunt for children to spot areas of interest in Daryl Howard’s artwork and curated collection of antique prints.
